작성자 : mariestella   2004-05-22 15:22   질문자 평 : 감사합니다. ^^     ★★★★★ 왜 이해가 되지 않겠어요? 열입곱번째 글자인 이 Q는 라틴어에서 유래한 것입니다. 이 글자에 해당되는 그리스어 문자는 kappa(K)였으나 그 쓰임새가 점차 줄어들어 나중에는 숫자로 밖에는 쓰이지 않았다고 합니다. 나중에 오랜 세월이 지나 그리스어의 문자를 에트루리아인으로부터 받아들였을 당시 라틴어의 자모에는 K음을 나타내는 문자가 C, K, Q의 세가지가 있었는데 Q는 U가 뒤에 따라올 때만 K 발음을 할 수 있었다고 해요. 그리고 U가 따라와야만 제 구실을 하는 이러한 Q의 용법은, 고유명사나 혹은 아주 희귀한 예를 제외하고는 아직까지도 그렇게 이어져 내려오고 있다고 합니다.
